Because dogs will be in close proximity with one another and be in public space we have a certain criteria for health and safety.

We require all dogs to be up to date on their vaccinations.

  • Rabies

Optional Vaccinations but strongly recommended:

  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
  • Canine Influenza

Dogs should be parasite free and should have a flea and tick treatment plan:

  • Fecal examination should be done to rule out worms, coccidia, and giardia
    • If your dog has runny stool they will have to go home and may come back after a clear fecal exam
  • Monthly flea, tick, and heartworm preventative is highly encouraged
    • If your dog has visible fleas or ticks they will have to go home

Spayed females and neutered males as well as intact dogs may participate, however females in season may not come to class. Please let an instructor know and we will help you make up the missed session.

Dogs must be 12 weeks of age or older. Dogs under 6 months old should be in the puppy class and dogs 6 months or older can go into the basic obedience class for adult dogs.

Each dog needs their own handler. Handlers aged 13 or older may handle a dog on their own after approval from instructor and permission from their guardian. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and the adult must be in control of the dog.

All dogs must have at a minimum:

  • Well fitting flat collar in good condition
  • Tags with owner information
  • Rabies tags
  • 6 foot leash in good condition

Other approved equipment includes: well fitting harness, treat pouches, toys, long line leash no longer than 15 feet, clicker. Any other equipment needs to be approved my the instructor.
